Punish Krobea Asante deviant Students who vandalized the school’s properties – William Boadi, EAI

Educate Africa Institute (EAI) has had a report that some SHS students of Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational school in Ashanti Region Sekyere East District, Asante Asokore have ravaged the school’s properties and we condemn it outright.
Currently, the
Sekyere East District
Police have nabbed about 40 students who were felons of the unrest.
The reasons per our scrutiny due to poor WASCCE results scored by their predecessors in 2022.
The assembly member, by the name Ebenezer Opoku, confided that the grim incident occurred on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

“A total of six cars have been razed by the students including four autos belonging to the school and two teachers’ private cars. The properties destroyed are worth thousands of cedis. Also, bungalows for the senior house mistress, her car, school’s notice board, stores, and food stored there have all been bashed”.
It took the security doors to save the principal’s room from destruction, but the dining hall was not exempted from the chaos. Most of the things they destroyed are beyond repair, including the principal’s vehicle which was provided by the government,” he added.
The director of education for Ashanti Region Dr. Annor Ankrah together with the District Director of Education for Sekyere East Mr. William Agyapong visited the school to confirm the situation.
However, EAI is advising the school authority and the education directorate must castigate those students severely and charge their parents to purchase the vehicles and all other properties destroyed.
The way forward;
- Parents are natural teachers and ought to advise their children.
- GES must lift the ban on corporal punishment in school.
- 2. School rules and regulations must be reinforced without nepotism and favoritism.
- PTA or a violence prevention union should be established.
- Organize school violence prevention forum etc.
These are some of the reasons why Educate Africa Institute (EAI) organized an attitudinal change seminar in 2019 at Asesewa which was sponsored by Upper Manya Klo Rural Bank.
We vow to continue and make it nationwide. Corporate entities, individuals, and all are urged to collaborate with us. Attitude is everything.
Signed
