DR. AKOTO, PRAISES FOR YOUR GOOD STEWARDSHIP UNDER THE NANA ADDO GOVERNMENT
ORGANIZED YOUTH PATRIOTS OF ASHANTI URGES AKOTO FOR PRESIDENTIAL POSITION
In your tenure as an assiduous Agriculture Minister, the Son of Baffour Akoto and the direct cousin of S D Dombo, Dr. Okumkom Owusu Afriyie Akoto has served as, chairman of the ECOWAS Specialised Ministerial Technical Council for Agriculture (CTMS Agric) and, was unanimously appointed Chairman of the Steering Committee for the newly established Cote d’lvoire- Ghana Cocoa Initiative under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In the year 2019, you were then appointed Chairman of the Board of the Inter African Coffee Organization (IACO), a Pan-African Organization Promoting the interest of the Coffee producers on the continent.
Under your effective and vibrant supervision as the agriculture minister, the agriculture sector recorded the highest growth of 4.6 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the 3rd quarter 2022, and the highest GDP growth of 8.4%, in the history of the Country according to Ghana Statistical Service.
For your numerous gestures and transformational leadership, awarded you several appointments and recognitions in the political space both in the local and worldwide. It can be recalled that, in February 2019, African Seeds which is the intergovernmental Seed Agency of the African Union, conferred on you the title of Seed Champion of Africa.
We can also state unequivocally and emphatically that, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto continuously fought the NDC Government to ensure an enhancement of the welfare and the living standard of cocoa farmers between 2009 – 2016, and between 2017- 2022, has ensured that, through various mechanisms, the price of cocoa bag has been brought to an appreciable level never witnessed in the history of Ghana.
It is worth noting that, through your effort has advanced the quest against the world cocoa trading giants to ensure cocoa farmers get their due and a deserving for their hard work.
Under your leadership as the agriculture minister, you have implemented the construction of the three (3) greenhouse training centers with attached commercial Units at Dawhenya, Akumadan and Bawjiase for the training of the youth in high- quality vegetable productions
Moreover, in your capacity as the finest agriculture minister, you have instituted several bilateral arrangements that resulted in the importation of assorted agricultural machineries including tractors, power tillers, planters, threshers, combine harvesters and hand-held equipment for smallholder farmers at a total of $100 million.
Dr. Akoto has recorded uncountable and numerous achievements which can never be stated verbally but can be found in the history books of Ghana and heart of Ghanaians who saw and witnessed your enthusiasm toward the agriculture sector in a positive stance. Combing through all your achievements and your profile in the political space, it clearly shows your leadership qualities and steering the affairs of NPP and Ghana would solve our plights going through as Ghanaians. In fact, Ghana needs you more than ever, and without you, NPP should forget breaking the (8) as preached to the good people of Ghana.
On this note, the Organized Youth Patriots of Ashanti congratulate you once again for your enormous work and service rendered to the good people of Ghana and we have dedicated and advocated our unflinching support for you to win the upcoming presidential elections slated to take effect in November this year 2023. We know very well that, in terms of elections, every candidate is potential but with your enormous contribution made to the NPP party, breaking the 8 mantra with you would be an easy task for the party.
As it stands now, the experience you’ve gained from the political arena is an obvious indication that, you are a fantastic leader who cares about the youth of this country and ready at all times to rescue them from their stress.
Without Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto breaking the 8 remains a slogan.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto is the best to lead and save NPP and Ghana.
