SEKESUA COMMUNITY ACCUSES DCE OF SABOTAGING MP PROJECTS
Some residents of Sekesua, a community in the Upper Manya Krobo constituency have accused the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Joe Sam and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of sabotaging projects undertaken by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko.
The Dademankyeme (Chiefs) and the Sekesua community said the DCE and the ruling government have adopted tactics aimed at undermining development in the area.
They say the DCE, on several occasions, prevented the construction of the pavilion market shed and refused to hand over the ceremony of the Police Station fully refurbished by the member of parliament, Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko through the common fund.
The Sekesua community members tabled several alleged infractions by the DCE in a quest to delay development and frustrate the MP.
The Sekesua Police Station was closed down under NPP MP, Mr. Joseph Tetteh (Joe Tee) and former NPP DCE, Mr. Felix Odjao who was then chairman of the District Security Council (DISEC).
The two political leaders did not make any efforts to renovate the Sekesua Police Station but closed it down.
However, the MP had fully renovated and refurbished the building, and rented accommodation for the police personnel, while the DCE had used state power to stop the handing-over ceremony at the Police Station.
The Sekesua community members refuted their lives at the mercy of robbers and petty theft courtesy of DCE’s abuse of power.
The Dademankyeme (Chiefs) and Sekesua community members are appealing to the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare to intervene in the abuse of security issues at Upper Manya Krobo District of the DCE.
“Dademankye, John Kumi lamented that the DCE is preventing development for the people,” he said.
