Bono Region: MP donates computers and accessories to schools and the police
The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna has donated brand new 21 computers and accessories to four basic schools and the Ghana Police Service in the Wenchi Constituency.
The beneficiary schools of Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna gesture were the Branam M/A Basic, St. Stephens Preparatory School at Subinso II, Amponsahkurom M/A Basic and Wurompo M/A Basic schools respectfully.
The Wenchi Legislature reiterated that the computers would help boost teaching and learning of ICT and raise educational standards towards national development.
He emphasized that his assumption of office he initiated the computer project to ensure quality education in terms of learning of ICT within the constituency.
The MP said since he occupies the seat as the representative of the good people of Wenchi in the Ghana’s Parliament he has presented more computers to about 24 schools with the optimistic that before completing of his four years turner of office he would distributes computers to about 50% of schools within the area.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiary schools, the Wenchi Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service Mrs. Mary Nyarko Adutwum expressed her profound appreciation to the Lawmaker for his generosity.
She emphasized that the computers had come at the right time and would help bridge the gap of lack of ICT education in the schools within the area.
The MP also donated one computer and accessories to the Wenchi Divisional Police Command to aid their work.
Chief Superintendent Mr Boakye Ansah, the Wenchi Divisional Police Commander received the computer.
He expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the Ghana Police Service.
Chief Superintendent Mr Boakye Ansah explained that the computer has come at the right time and will help fastract their reports from the Police Divisional headquarters to the region.
This is not your first time of making donation to the Ghana Police service, you have given us motorbikes to strengthen security and today too you brought us a computer we are much greatful Mr Boakye Ansah has said.
