Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, the National Women Organizer for the NDC, embarked on a transformative journey across the Savannah Region, delivering a message of hope and renewal to the people of Ghana. In her impassioned address to NDC members in Damango, she highlighted the pressing issues facing the nation under the current administration and outlined a vision for a brighter future under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.

Central to Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s address was the stark reality of economic hardship endured by ordinary Ghanaians. She drew attention to the exorbitant cost of living, exemplified by the staggering price of basic commodities like sugar, which has soared to over seven hundred cedis per bag under the Nana Addo administration. In stark contrast, she recalled a time under former President John Dramani Mahama when a bag of sugar was a mere one hundred and fifty cedis, underscoring the economic downturn experienced by the populace.

Beyond economic challenges, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei shed light on the plight of marginalized communities, particularly Muslims and Fulani people. She lamented the erosion of their identity and cultural heritage, exemplified by the exorbitant cost of travel to Mecca, once accessible from Tamale but now requiring arduous journeys to Accra. She condemned the government’s neglect and vowed to restore dignity and respect to these communities, promising skill training, capital for entrepreneurship, and scholarships for their children to study abroad without discrimination. She launched Young Women’s Wings and empowered them to be hardworking members.

Furthermore, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei pledged to prioritize the issuance of Ghana Identification Cards, ensuring that every citizen is recognized and valued, irrespective of background or ethnicity. She emphasized the NDC’s commitment to restoring hope and prosperity to all Ghanaians, particularly in regions like Damango, where access to clean, drinkable water is a fundamental necessity for good health and well-being. Dr. Hanna Bisiw paid the traditional leaders of Damango and donated some bags of rice to them.

As the 2024 election approaches, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s message serves as a rallying cry for change and a beacon of hope for a brighter future. With the promise of a renewed focus on economic prosperity, social justice, and inclusive governance under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, the people of Ghana stand poised to reclaim their destiny and usher in an era of progress and prosperity for all. Dr. Bisiw-Kotei’s tour of the Savannah Region has ignited a spark of optimism and renewed determination among NDC members and citizens alike, inspiring a collective vision for a better Ghana.

Thank you.
